Birth impression
This is my third child and first birth at Yui Clinic. Hutch was born 3 days before his due date but we all thought he would come a lot earlier than that. I was dilated 2 cm by 37 weeks. I came to Yui on 9/9 (Saturday) with contractions about 7 min. apart for 2 hours, but after I got to Yui they slowed and stopped progressing, at this point I was 4 cm dilated, so we went home. I had an appointment Monday 9/11 and measured 5 cm dilated. We came back to Yui on Tuesday for Dr. Fumi to sweep my membrane to hopefully get me into labor. At 1:20 AM my water broke at home, we got to Yui around 1:40 AM. I had started having painful contractions for about 10 min. apart. The baby was still “floating” so they thought it might be a while but I was pretty sure it was going to be very fast. I stayed on my knees with the ball through most of the contractions when the baby head started to show. They moved the ball and I put my arms over my husband’s shoulders. The contractions came one after another without much time between the rest. Our beautiful baby boy was born at 3:28 AM! I am so grateful for Dr. Fumi and the midwife. They were absolutely amazing during labor and delivery. We are so glad we chose Yui for the care and delivery of this child. This has been my best birth experience and the best I have felt afterward. Thank you so much to all the staff at Yui!

second birth at Yui Clinic. Birth impression
This is my second birth at Yui Clinic and my fourth child, but the first girl. When we got pregnant sooner than we expected with our fourth, I was excited because that meant I could give birth at Yui again! I had such a positive experience with my third that I could not wait to be cared again for again in such a professional and loving way.
This was my first pregnancy that made it to my due date and beyond.
I woke up to contractions at 3:30 AM, nothing painful just more uncomfortable. I had two 20 minutes apart and then another in a 10-minute interval and then a very painful one and decided to head to Yui Clinic. We arrived at Yui around 5:20 AM. My contractions were about 5 minutes apart and painful. I got up to the labor room and they put the monitors on to check the baby. They asked me if I wanted to use the tub and I said yes since I hadn’t been able to do that in my other births because my water had broken already. My midwife checked my cervix and I was 5 cm dilated. After that, I was able to get into the bathtub. The tub felt amazing! But I wasn’t able to stay long because I had a very strong contraction in which I felt like I needed to push. My husband and midwife got me out of the tub as quickly as possible between contractions. I labored the rest of the time on my knees with my upper body on the birthing bed using my husband as leverage in front of me.
I don’t know how many times I pushed but looking back it couldn’t have been too many. My baby’s head came out in the intact amniotic sack. My water hadn’t broken yet! There was calm before contractions and they asked if I wanted to feel the head. I did, but I had to press hard through a layer of water balloon first (crazy). My midwife then tried to break my water but couldn’t and she told me later that she thinks the baby’s hips on the next contraction broke it right before the whole body came out. My baby girl was born at 6:58 AM!
I cannot speak highly enough about the staff, midwives, and Dr. Fumi. The care at Yui Clinic is amazing!
My birth’s recovery here is so much different and better than my first two births in a hospital.
Thank you so much! May God Bless you all.
